Heavy Lifting

Heavy lifting is a lifting technique specially developed for exceptionally heavy jobs. The hydraulic cable lifting jack used in this technique is a true champion when it comes to exceptionally heavy jobs and therefore the ideal power source for lifting and pulling activities. The hydraulic cable lifting jacks are applied in road and hydraulic engineering, the off-shore industry, shipyards, the petro-chemical industry and international prestressing world.

For a number of years, TT Fijnmechanica B.V. has been the main supplier of these cable stressing jacks to major international companies which specialise in heavy lifting and pulling jobs. One of the most recent projects which used these cable stressing jacks, was the building of The London Eye, (the huge millennium Ferris wheel). After the horizontal assembly of the giant Ferris wheel, the wheel was pulled upright using heavy lifting.

Since 2003 TT Fijnmechanica B.V. produces and delivers complete heavy lifting systems. Not only the jacks, but also the power packs and control units. Special software has been developped which already has been used successfully. For more information, please, click here: HEAVY LIFTING SOFTWARE.

The advantages of strand jack systems (which are used in heavy lifting) compared with a standard crane:

strand jacks are compact and  take up less space;
they are immensely powerful (up to 1500 tons per unit) ;
strand jacks can operate very accurate (in mm);
a full automatic strand jack system can operate synchronical very accurate (deviation less that 1 mm);
by coupling several strands jacks together, large objects can be easily towed or pulled.
